Pur-leese...

Am bloody annoyed. Purposely stayed in over the weekend so that i can work on my beaded shoe design. Then spent the whole Saturday morn looking for the beads i bought... but those buggers must've taken a stroll somewhere coz they're nowhere to be found. Thought i left it in the office so when i came in this morn, I was ready to spring a surprise on them when i opened my drawer, thinking "AHA!!! I found you.. you miniscule buggers of the plastic kind!!". But horror of horrors... they were not there either. AAARRGGHHH... WHERE CAN IT BE?!?!?!?!!
Then supposed to go for gym today but am still in office. Missed Viv's class already. Doooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmm............... the cellulite and calories must be breaking out in glorious hallelujahs and multiplying even as i type. Nevermind!! There's always wednesday's class. Muahahahahahaha... tremble with FEAR, you thousands and thousands of calories!!!

Anyway, *gains back composure* had a rather relaxing weekend. Finished reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. Played with friend's 1y.o. daughter (my fav toddler). Watched a musical on cable with Ash (So what if it's a teeny bopper thingy. We've both been waiting for it for a whole month :P ) AND had Pork Chops, Pumpkin & Potato wedges for dinner while dressed in my Pajamas. Hahahahaha....

This 'P' fever seems to be lingering way after Friday night. Now craving Pancakes...and Papadums & Puri still, of course. Hehehehe.... Lucky i didn't eat my Pecan muesli this morn with Peach yoghurt. Colleague suggested 'Pan Mee' while Siryn suggested Penne for lunch. *groan* BUT had Pie for tea just now. *double groan and rolls eyes*

This has got to stop...... though Persimmons or Plums might be nice.. or maybe Pizza or Porridge??!?!

Mind your Ps

Had dinner with Siryn last night. It had been a long week for both of us. The usual 'so many things to do, so little time' lament. As always, being with her is never dull coz we have the most bizarre conversations (not to mention excellent taste in friends, style, etc... ahem). We find amusement is trivial things and have uncanny abilities to associate different things together. I often wonder what people would think if they heard one of our conversations. Like last night for example (ok.. so maybe i was the one who started it and we were in an Indian restaurant at that time.... but that's not my point) ANYWAY, the conversation went something like this..

A: I think i want to learn how to make puri.
S: Why?
A: Coz i like puri... and i think i have an indian stomach coz i love indian food..but that's beside the point.
S: So u can make ur own puri at home??
A: Yeah.. and then when i get my own place, i can have a mini puri party. Wheee... mini puri party mini puri party... Try saying that a few times.
S: Mini puri party mini puri party... whee... Just puri?
A: Hmm... i like papadums too. So maybe a mini papadum puri party?? Then u can bring ur pashmina.
S: Whee.. mini Papadum Puri Party. I'll wear a Punjabi suit with my Pashmina.
A: And i'll have peacock feathers. So mini papadum puri party with punjabi suit, pashmina and peacock feathers. Hmm.... maybe i should call it Puny Papadum Puri Party instead? Then everyone comes in Punjabi suit, Pashmina and Peacock feathers. It'll be PERFECT. My Perfect Puny Papadum Puri Party... wheeeeeeeeee........
S: *groans* oh god.. if someone hears us now... :P puny papadum puri party..
~~~
Hmm.... must be the food..... 8P
Those happy days are gonna fly...
It's been a crazy week of last minute meetings, business lunches and insane deadlines. In the midst of it all, i've also tried to go to the gym, meet up with friends, pay my car insurance, enquire about condos, shop for my Aunt in Oz, research on my client's competitors, etc... Phew!! It's a wonder how i manage all these... Hmm.... must maintain self as multi-tasking girl-about-town oozing with inner poise, ever ready to face challenges without getting all frenzied and looking like a woman possessed. :D
Cannot believe that almost half the year is gone. Feels like i've not done anything but dwindled yet another 6 months of my life away aimlessly. Sigh.... OK, time to do something purposeful ( i hope)...
10 things i would like to do before end of 2006:
1. Learn to dance properly without looking like a demented emu attempting the funky chicken dance
2. Drop 2 dress sizes {possible if achieve #1}
3. Turn one of my hobbies into mini business
4. Reduce some of my credit card debts. {Am realistic.. not possible to clear ALL debts. Then again, possible if #3 works}
5. Buy my own condo (seriously) {possible if #3 turns into overnight success or i achieve #8.. hehehe}
6. Attend at least ONE theatre/play/concert performance
7. Attend at least ONE of Siryn's performances (least i can do for bestfren :) *hugs* sorry have not been very supportive)
8. Meet & snag straight single desirable (to me) sane male (Even better if he's rich AND generous to me... hahahaha) {possibility of achieving this when doing #6 or #7 ?!?!}
9. Go on minibreak... with Siryn, of course (unless rich generous straight single desirable sane male offers better deal ... hahaha :P)
10. Curb tendency to splurge on MAC and fav boutique. :P {then can achieve #4 & #5 even if #3 doesn't work. But if #3 or #8 works, then #10 does not apply}
Awww... me?!?!
Was at my nephew's birthday party over the weekend. The girls were all dressed in pink (soooooo stereotype!!!) and the boys were a shy lot. The amazing thing was that they were most well behaved and remained firmly parked on the little chairs while eating their fries & nuggets. Ok... so maybe this is better than having them screeching all over the place and swinging from the banister but c'mon.... they're in the happiest place in fast-foodland and yet they seemed almost sedated. :P They finally sprung to life during games. It was hilarious watching them play musical chairs (great pandemonium of going in different directions) and passing poison parcel (some clung onto the pack for dear life).
There was a boy there who seemed more interested in the food than the games. While others ran about, he ran back and forth to grab bites at his food. :D This same fella also took delight in hitting my head with the balloon and tried to smear cake cream on my shirt. My family seemed to find it amusing that I had an admirer. Ok... so he's 3-years-old!! (snore) But hey.... I can still attract 'younger men'... rotfl....
The next day, someone else (much older than 3y.o.... hehehe) complimented that I've lost weight. Wheeeeeeeeee.... It's great to receive that compliment... and when it comes from a guy (meaning he noticed!!)... double wheeeeeeee... *skips round & spin cycle*
Nothing makes a girl feel more appealing than having an admirer or getting a compliment. Am most beautiful creature in all creation................. 8P
Malicious Elegance
Went to a black-tie event with Siryn two nights ago.It wasn't as star-studded as expected but still there were a few familiar celebrities (tho for the life of me, i couldn't place some of their faces or remember what made them famous :P). Ok FINE!.. so i'm bad with local celebrities... can't help it if they lack memorable talent. 8P
Amidst the pool (not big enough to qualify as 'sea') of tuxedos and sparkly dresses, i noticed a group of 4 girls dressed in black slinky dresses except for 1 who was in strapless pink and had an interesting tattoo on the back of her left shoulder. They seemed to know their way around and highly at ease with the whole up-do thing. So there i was, keeping low profile since obviously, i have not reached the hi-society status (still working on that part.. hehehe), taking in all the sights & sounds, ooh-ing at some of the dresses at the fashion show and savouring the delightful spread at the buffet table. I was thinking 'hmmm.. i could get used to this.. well, maybe this kind of income, that is'. Hahahaha....
Just before we were to leave, Siryn and i went to the washroom and bumped into Pinky & her mates there. What shocked me when i came out from the stall was not so much that they were smoking in there, but that they were all squatting on floor in the most unflattering manner. Pinky was bitching away in local dialect and waving her hand as if she was ready to pick a fight with someone. EVERY other word that came out from her mouth was either a curse or a swear word. I may not understand the local dialect very much, but it doesn't take Einstein to figure out what she was saying. It didn't matter that Siryn and i was there or that 2 little girls were in there too. She just went on and on while her mates just listened, periodically nodding in (what seemed to me, clueless) agreement. Hahahahaha... sounds like a new cartoon/girlband - Pinky & the No-brainers... but i digress. :P
Siryn and i got out of there as quickly as we could. Any initial impression of grace or etiquette we had of her just washed down the drain at extreme speed. We were so appalled by her words and actions. We have heard and seen celebrity cattiness before but what we witnessed in there was beyond. It just goes to show that Clothes do not maketh the man (or woman, in this case) and as my bestfren Siryn says "Your carefully put-together Audrey Hepburnesque princess look wouldn't do you any good if what comes out the moment you open your mouth would put the most colourfully profane sailors to shame."
Luxurious Me
This is from one of the quizzes i did today... (ok, i'm THAT bored in the office). See... i knew all along that i am irresistibly sweet & sinfully tempting (enough enough... don't go overboard). By some strange coincidence, i only eat dark chocolate... hmmm... a tasteful reflection of my soul, perhaps???
You are Dark Chocolate
You live your life with intensity, always going full force.
You push yourself (and others) to the limit... you want more than you can handle.
An extreme person, you challenge and inspire the world!
Chinese Whisper
It's been 3 days since i had the flu. My nose is runny... my eyes are watery... my lungs feel as if it's waiting to lurch out from my chest with every cough. And if this isn't not bad enough, i've also lost a fair bit of my voice. Now if anyone thinks that a woman with a low voice sounds sexy, i beg to differ. So far, i've only managed to sound like a bad Rod Stewart impersonator in some cheap karaoke bar.
Lucky for me, work has not been very busy these few days so i don't have to be on the phone much. Otherwise, i'd probably scare a few callers with my raspy incomprehensible 'psycho-killer' hello. And if you still insist on talking to me, i'll oblige and add sound effects (in manner of coughs, hacks & wheezes) to the conversation.
Now, if you'll excuse me, i need to go look for a stopper for my nose..... *crawls off in misery*
Rock & Rolls
Started at a new gym last night. After going for a calorie-loaded holiday and the last couple weeks of cancelled classes in my previous gym (STUPID management)... am determined to whip (not literally) self back into shape... (tho dun recall having a shape to begin with.. lest u agree with me that Round's a shape. If so, why do i bother with gym then?)
So there i was, happily trudging off to gym class thinking "wheeee.... slim thighs and sexy silhouette". Warning bells start ringing in my head when the instructor Viv told us we would be using 2 boards instead of one for STEP class. Previously, already i find myself struggling to keep up with juz 1 board. Now with 2 boards?!?!?!?! Hey, it's not easy doing STEP class when your left and right foot refuses to work with each other. Add that to turns and jumps and trying to manoeuvre yourself around the boards, it's a wonder how i escaped the class unscathed.
Viv told me i did good considering i've not done any of her STEP classes before (i used to attend her DANCE class only). What more, it was an intermediate class last night. With that encouragement, when she asked if i would be staying on for the next class (which was DANCE), i was all gung-ho and said "Yes!". (tho i think i sounded more enthusiastic than i really was)
If the warning bells were not loud enough the first time, someone should've whacked me over the head and dragged me out of the class before i did more harm (to myself). When Viv started showing us the moves, i was going "Uh-oh" while my body was screaming "Get out! Get out while u still can". But thoughts of beautiful dresses clad around a toned body (mine...that is) kept me firmly determined to stay on for another hour. Die, u thousands & thousands (ok, maybe hundreds) of calories!!!
So i did it. I huffed and puffed myself through the entire hour of DANCE after an hour of STEP. While other slimmer gym-mates did belly rolls, i feebly tried to move the rolls on my belly. While others leaped and skipped like feathers in the wind, i did my best to defy gravity and not flail my arms like a chicken squawking. Despite looking like a drunken elephant doing ballet, i stuck my double-chin out and did the best i could.
Now my body aches and my bones creak. Hmm... wonder if i should go again tomorrow??
Where is Here?
Phew.... finally here. In starting this blog, have just discovered what a neanderthal i am in the world of technology. (hmm...something tells me Siryn's lurking near with the epilator at the mere mention of 'neanderthal')
Oh well... if great inventions of the world have stemmed out from boredom, here's hoping something will germinate and grow from this sphere.... and perhaps even serve as some amusement to those who share the same jaded life.
Otherwise, all this would be a sheer waste of my time and i would be nowhere further than where i already am... (except maybe a tech-savvy neanderthal???)
