Rock & Rolls

Started at a new gym last night. After going for a calorie-loaded holiday and the last couple weeks of cancelled classes in my previous gym (STUPID management)... am determined to whip (not literally) self back into shape... (tho dun recall having a shape to begin with.. lest u agree with me that Round's a shape. If so, why do i bother with gym then?)

So there i was, happily trudging off to gym class thinking "wheeee.... slim thighs and sexy silhouette". Warning bells start ringing in my head when the instructor Viv told us we would be using 2 boards instead of one for STEP class. Previously, already i find myself struggling to keep up with juz 1 board. Now with 2 boards?!?!?!?! Hey, it's not easy doing STEP class when your left and right foot refuses to work with each other. Add that to turns and jumps and trying to manoeuvre yourself around the boards, it's a wonder how i escaped the class unscathed.

Viv told me i did good considering i've not done any of her STEP classes before (i used to attend her DANCE class only). What more, it was an intermediate class last night. With that encouragement, when she asked if i would be staying on for the next class (which was DANCE), i was all gung-ho and said "Yes!". (tho i think i sounded more enthusiastic than i really was)

If the warning bells were not loud enough the first time, someone should've whacked me over the head and dragged me out of the class before i did more harm (to myself). When Viv started showing us the moves, i was going "Uh-oh" while my body was screaming "Get out! Get out while u still can". But thoughts of beautiful dresses clad around a toned body (mine...that is) kept me firmly determined to stay on for another hour. Die, u thousands & thousands (ok, maybe hundreds) of calories!!!

So i did it. I huffed and puffed myself through the entire hour of DANCE after an hour of STEP. While other slimmer gym-mates did belly rolls, i feebly tried to move the rolls on my belly. While others leaped and skipped like feathers in the wind, i did my best to defy gravity and not flail my arms like a chicken squawking. Despite looking like a drunken elephant doing ballet, i stuck my double-chin out and did the best i could.

Now my body aches and my bones creak. Hmm... wonder if i should go again tomorrow??
