Off

Am leaving for a short holiday to Singapore in approximately 13 hours. YAY!!!!

Client called just now with massive changes to the campaign. Have left note for my exec to help me with part of it. Will deal with the rest when i come back. Sheesh.. why can't clients make up their minds???

It's almost 9pm. I'm shutting down the comp and leaving. No more working for tonight!

Have a good week everyone!
Don't miss me too much while i'm away. ;)

PS: Bugger.... just remembered i have to send my relatives to the airport at 6.15am tomorrow morning. GAHHHHHHHH.........

Queen of Time Management

This was my weekend...
Saturday: Woke up early, pick Siryn and headed down to KLCC. Grabbed quick breakfast at Burger King. (bad calories :P) Then ran through what seemed like a never-ending tunnel that linked to the Convention Centre. Rushed up the escalator to the Hall, then down another stairs to the Box Office to collect our tickets for Mystical Steppes. Had to go up another 2 flights of stairs to our seats. Show was good so worth the morning 'workout'. ;P

The show ended later than expected so we had to quickly walk back to KLCC to grab a Caesar Salad at Dome. Got caught in very bad jam sending Siryn home. Then rushed to pick Cilla from home and zoom off to church for Youth group meeting. Ended at about 6ish.

There were 3 things happening thereafter. Dinner with Layce, Siryn's gig and Juan's BBQ. Since i couldn't multiply myself fast enough, i had to turn down Siryn and Juan. *sob* Then Layce sms-ed to say something came up so dinner cancelled. Sheesh... so Cilla and i went to have dinner at nearby shopping mall. Ryns was there too so we went to get Abby's present. Then Layce called about 9ish to say she's home and hadn't eaten. So we bought some food and went to see her. Stayed on to chit-chat and watched a movie. Half-staggered home at about 2.30am. 8)

Sunday:
Woke up early to go church. Then stayed back to man the registration counter for a seminar. Went for lunch nearby then to Cold Storage to get some groceries. After that, dropped Cilla at the train station and zipped off to meet Layce for tea. Came home at about 7pm and flopped on the sofa. Was too zonked to go out anymore. So vegetated till about 9ish before i went to rummage for something to eat. :P

Don't i deserve a crown for being able to fit so many things in a day and still keep my sanity?? Hahaha...

P.S: The sun & sky was so gorgeous on Saturday. Had to take this pix of the Petronas Twin Towers (2nd & 3rd tallest building in the world).

Note to self: Must learn to enjoy days like these...

Wat-er

Took this on the way to my event last night. Quite obvious being in a rush and shaky hands don't make good photographs. :P

Mid-week quickie

Had a good chat with Foodie Queen yesterday. Wait..Was it yesterday.. or the day before?? I forget :P Oh well, it was good catching up with her despite being miles apart. How did we survive without IM last time?!?!

Anyway, the whole conversation was kind of emo. Guess we were just feeling jaded with everything. Strange how we tend to go through the ups & downs at almost the same time. Then again, i suppose that's what makes her one of my best and closest friend all these years... coz we can relate & sympathize with each other. :D We're both hoping that things will work out much much better this year than last. Trying to stay afloat and keep the glass half full.

I have to rush off now. Work's hectic these days but just wanted to post something so that my dear ones will know i'm still running about as always. :P

FQ, you're going to be a great great mum and J's going to be a great great dad that'll probably spoil her silly!! Don't you forget that!! *hugs*

Siryn, see you later and Mystical Steppes this weekend! Woohoo!!!

Cilla, dinner at Layce's this Saturday. :D

Terry, a surprise heading your way (or rather.. in about 2 weeks).

Little dip

The sun got hot after a while so we stepped into the shallow stream to cool our feet. No prize for guessing which belong to who. :P

The gazebo where we had brunch

Brunch menu:
Egg sandwiches, carrot & cucumber sticks with sour cream & garlic dip, variety of local 'kuih', fresh cherries, chocolate muffins, apple juice, root beer and water. ;D

One of the pathways in the park

In the park one day

Went for a picnic yesterday morning with Cilla, Cece and Csu. Siryn couldn't join us coz she's down with the flu. Anyway, it was an impulsive decision made just a few days prior. Now, bear in mind that none of us have gone for a picnic in.. err... maybe the last decade??? 8D So when i suggested it, they thought i was totally whacked... but being the supportive friends that they are, they went along. :P We agreed not too be too gung-ho about the food OR the location and decided to go to a park nearby.

The weather held out rather nicely for us. I'm a little embarassed to admit that i didn't realize how nice the park is.. and SO near where i live. *knocks self on head for being DUH* Needless to say, we had a good time. Hmm... maybe we can make it a monthly 'de-stressing' outing?? ;)

Weather or not

I've been told on numerous occasions that i have high expectations, expensive preferences, etc etc. I admit that for some strange reason, whenever i pick up something at the store, it always has the highest price tag. :P Exquisite tastes, perhaps?

But as i ponder upon this (since i'm still stuck in the office just waiting for the client to revert), i realize that it doesn't take a lot to make me happy. Do i hear gasps of disbelief? Yes, my dear friends, in case you haven't noticed....which then comes to the question of WHY haven't you noticed?...but i digress :P, there are plenty of inexpensive things that make me smile. Still sceptical?

Just ask my two dogs. They know how to make my day.
Or the long sandy beach that beckons me for a stroll.
The crisp autumn leaves that colour the ground and crackle as i walk on it.
A whiff of fresh bread or hot coffee that greets you when you walk past the shop.
The voice/sms of a dear one whom i've not seen for a long while.
An impulsive hug of a child or a friend...just because.

I could go on and on but i think you get the idea. :D Today, i must've laughed a thousand times because of friends. Despite the gloomy weather outside, i have been kept warm by the little things that my friends have said or done (knowingly or otherwise). So before anyone start reaching for the Kleenex (or wonder why i'm getting mushy), here's to you all.. for being MY friend.

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel like
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

Pain in neck

I must've pulled a muscle or something while sleeping coz i've been having this persistent ache on the left side of my neck down to the shoulder. Been wanting to air/sun my pillow in hope of curbing the stiffness but it's been raining cats and dogs lately. Sigh...

And... i've just realized what a nuisance it is to have "invited readers only" to my blog. ISH!!! Not only is it inaccessible to non-invitees, it's annoying to log in myself. Add that to the crappy internet connection, this is really adding to the pain in my neck. (pun intended 8P)

After conferring with some of my fellow bloggers, we've decided IF there's nosy people out there, so be it. I'm reverting to public access (again). If they deem our lives so interesting to want to probe, then Let's GIVE them something to talk about...

To the rest of my dear friends, hope i've not inconvenient you all in trying to access my blog this past week. Will post about my weekend once i get the photos loaded. *hugs*

Daft & snoring

A couple of friends' comments made me realize how boring i can be.. correction.. how boring i am. I wake up, i go to work, sometimes hit the gym, go home, sleep. And the cycle continues... I don't remember the last time i went for a movie or went out partying. If i do go out, it's always with the same person/s and to the same places. (Not that they are boring but you know what i trying to get at)

Gawd.. i'm even boring myself writing this. *yawns* Anyway, this is a song that's been playing in my head these few days. (ok.. i'm not weird or anything.. or at least, i try not to be). Probably has absolutely nothing to do with this post but if you get a chance to hear it, hope the music picks you up ;P (especially if you've already fallen off your chair in hibernation from reading this post)

~ ~ ~ O ~ ~ ~
Last night I had a dream about you
In this dream I'm dancing right beside you
And it looked like everyone was having fun
The kind of feeling I've waited so long

Don't stop come a little closer
As we jam the rhythm gets stronger
There's nothing wrong with just a little little fun
We were dancing all night long

The time is right to put my arms around you
You're feeling right
You wrap your arms around too
But suddenly I feel the shining sun
Before I knew it this dream was all gone

Ooh I don't know what to do
About this dream and you
I wish this dream comes true

Ooh I don't know what to do
About this dream and you
We'll make this dream come true

Why don't you play the game ?
Why don't you play the game ?

Bliss

Saw this kitty during lunch today, right under a very busy stall. Couldn't resist taking a pix. She looked so comfortable and unbothered despite having so many noisy people hovering over her.

Been rather annoyed lately by people who are pushy and can't seem to mind their own business. Hmm.. maybe i should learn to shut myself out like that too. Perhaps ignorance IS bliss...

Up, down, all around

FINALLY finished the bulk of my CNY project. It's been so long overdue that we're feeling constipated just by looking at it. Ugh...ok, maybe that was a bit too much information. :P

It's only the first week of 2007 and already i feel as if i've been on the roller coaster a dozen times. Cilla called a couple days back to ask if anyone wanted to go Singapore as she had return tickets by bus. Long story how she got those but on impulse, i said i would take them.

Coincidentally, my good friend Hans(in Spore) called and asked when i'm going to visit. And got emails from cousin Loong (in HK) and Vix (Penang) that they may be going to Spore about the same time too. WOOHOO!!!!!!

Already submitted my leave in advance, citing reasons that i have to clear it from last year before work gets hectic and la-di-dah. ;P

Another couple more days and Siryn will be back from Sweden. LayCe is waiting for us to go over her house for New Year gathering. Meeting Csu tomorrow night for drinks. YAY!!!

Am floating in happiness now....

Deja vu = Same same

First for this year: Reached office at 8.25am (work usually doesn't start till 9.30am)

Had to send something to client before that so decided to come straight in. Was going to blog about a conversation that i had with someone yesterday. But as i started typing it out, it became too exasperating to re-live that incident.

So, i decided to spare all my blog-friends from the annoyance since the conversation (IF you can call it that) only went in circles and nothing of substance came out of it. Bottom line, we were asked to invent the wheel without being given the proper tools. *Hmm.. seems to be recurring situation. Sigh*

Determined not to let pessimism be the kick-off of my 2007, i went to Ikea after work. Siryn/Cilla/Ryns, in case you're wondering and CONTRARY to your beliefs, i DID NOT (i repeat: DID NOT) throw swedish meatballs/gravad lax at unsuspecting patrons/security guards. Am cool ice queen with inner poise. 8P

Spent a couple hours there looking at furnishings and planning the layout for my home. Nevermind if i haven't bought my condo yet. Needed to release tension so have to divert thoughts to something positive. :)

Think happy thoughts.. think happy thoughts....Inner poise...inner poise...

Be still my fluttering heart...

Aunt from Oz came to visit and gave me this gorgeous silk scarf. Already elated with the prints but when i saw it was Kenzo!!! *faints*

HAPPY 2007 everyone!!!

Hope your year is as wonderful as this!!!

*HUGS*

End & Begin

Sang this at church yesterday morning. Thought it was an assuring way to end and begin the year. :D

~ ~ ~ O ~ ~ ~
You are forever in my life
You see me through the seasons
Cover me with Your hand
And lead me in Your righteousness
And I look to You
And I wait on You

I will sing to You, Lord
A hymn of love
For Your faithfulness to me
I’m carried in everlasting arms
You’ll never let me go
Through it all
