Life's Score

Haven't had much inspiration to blog lately. Probably because my days have all been about work, work, work. Not that i don't like what i do but it also leaves me with very little time for anything else.

Plus, i have this growing addiction to Starbucks' Caramel Macchiato. I know..Sweet AND calorie-laden. Tried to avoid having it too often but when the shop is just round the corner, it requires divine willpower to walk past it and say NO to the beckoning aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Mmmmm...Am fast heading towards the path of eternal fats. *sigh*

Skipped coffee on Tuesday.. which made the day feel e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y slow-moving. Thank God we have music while working. Otherwise, there's no soothing this caffeine-deprived beast. Hahahahaha...What would i do without music.. and coffee.. and friends.. and ok, a whole lot of other things. But that's another point altogether. :P

Anyway, you know how music plays an important role in movies? Yesterday, i had TWO of such incidences.. not of movie (obviously *rolls eyes*) but certainly the existence of music which added zing to the situation.

Was on the phone with my client over some hiccups in our project. She was lamenting about our dependance on emails/technology. And the very thing that's supposed to make life easier, has also made people irresponsible. Just as she finished saying "Whatever happened to the good old things that we had? Don't people appreciate those anymore?", the song that was playing on my comp went 'Don't it always seem to go, That you don't know what you've got till it's gone, They paved paradise, And put up a parking lot...'. Hahahaha...

After work, i met up with Csu for a late dinner at the hawker stalls just across the road from my office. As usual, we talked about work, places we'd like to go, things we want to do... and the lack of funds. And how we cannot afford to not work, given the financial responsibilites we have... car, credit cards, taxes, future house. Again, just as Csu sighed "WHY did we have to grow up and have this to deal with?", a busker nearby sang 'Yesterday... all my troubles seemed so far away, Now it looks as though they're here to stay...'.

That cracked me up. Life is one big drama...or so it seems. 8D Then again, maybe it isn't so bad after all. At least, i can still laugh about such things.

"This music is the glue of the world. It's what holds it all together. Without this, life would be meaningless." - Empire Records (1995) -
